Last weekend, BCA members went on a Otavalo trip. However, it is a long story, so I’ll write about it later.

It’s been almost two weeks since I came to Ecuador. Compared to the last week, I feel more comfortable to talk in Spanish this week. I don’t know too many words yet, but I can express what happen each day in Spanish now.

However, it’s getting more difficult to write in English… It’s always difficult to switch languages quickly. I’m feeling frustration now lol. I haven’t written papers or any formal thing since May. I’m afraid of forgetting English by the end of this semester :( I would end up writing crappy papers in next semester ><

Anyway in Ecuador, BCA students have two classes and a orientation or salsa class every day until August 25. One of the class is about Culture in Ecuador. It starts at 9am and ends at 10:30 (?). The other one one is Spanish. It starts around 10:45(?) and ends at 12:45pm. On Mondays and Wednesdays, we have salsa class in the afternoon. It starts at 3pm usually. Since we have only one guy in our program, all of us have to learn guys’ part lol. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we have an orientation from 2pm. So far we’ve talked about classes, volunteer works, social problems and… what else? I can’t remember lol.

Today, I had Spanish class outside of the building. I was bitten so much by mosquitoes lol. However, compared to mosquitoes in Japan, ones in Ecuador are just nothing. I don’t feel anything.

Also, I achieved one thing today! I found a post office near from my universityyyy!!! xD OMG it was so hard! lol I don’t know why, but it seems that people don’t really use post offices so often. I asked so many people around the university, but nobody knew!! o_0 I was like How come you don’t know donde esta el correo!? Maybe because I grew up in Japan, it’s just normal for me to see post offices everywhere. I finally found a post office inside el Centro Comercial de Esquina.  It was located in like a hidden place. It takes about 10-15 minutes from USFQ by walking. I was so happy when I completed this mission. Just FYI, ordinal mail to US costs $2, and express mail costs about $30. I used ordinal one today.

After I came back to my home, I was so tired. I was studying Spanish, but I fell asleep x_x. When I woke up around 6pm, my mom came back from her work. My mom, brother and I went to Donburi place for dinner. My mom invited one of her friends, who is working in JICA, to the place, so we had dinner together. Yesterday, I told my mom that I’m interested in JICA. My mom remembered that and invited him for me.  How quickly my mom took action for me! It was very interesting to get to know him and JICA in Ecuador. My mom is sooooooo amazing! Seriously, I’ve never met such nice people until I met my mom and brother.

I have two hour salsa dance tomorrow, so I’ll go to sleep now.
